Development Centre of Salo Region

Development Centre of Salo Region is a specialists´ organisation owned by eleven municipalities.

The Centre is responsible for:
promoting regional development and co-operation
being an advisor to business life
producing services for its member municipalities and
acting as a regional lobbyist.

The Development Centre carries out projects which will ensure the high level of regional services in the future, create opportunities for successful entrepreneurship and generate regional well-being.

The Centre is comprised of Regional Development Unit, Business Development Unit, Municipal Services Unit and administration department.

The Business Development Unit is responsible for the regionally equal development of business life. The Regional Development Unit is responsible for accomplishing the regional strategy and Salo Regional Centre Program. The Municipal Services Unit is in charge of both to develop the co-operation with the member municipalities and to perform the special duties given by member municipalities.

PROJECTS

Development Centre of Salo Region carries out development projects and acts as a co-ordinator of municipal funds in regional projects. These projects will be carried out in accordance with the regional strategy. The projects will be monitored and the results assessed. At the end of a project the need of a follow-up-project will be discussed as well as will be determined if the results of a project will be taken into the regional development work.

In its own economic region Development Centre of Salo Region aims to act as a promoter of regional development and co-operation. With the versatile expert services the Development Centre tries to help and strengthen opportunities of new and already existing businesses. Development Centre of Salo (Salon Seudun Kehittämiskeskus, SSKK) is owned by the federation of following eleven municipalities: Halikko, Kiikala, Kisko, Kuusjoki, Muurla, Perniö, Pertteli, Salo, Somero, Suomusjärvi and Särkisalo.
